My top 5 basic revision tips!

Hey Guys and Girls!

What are you learning? Tell me in the comments below!

In today's blog i am going to be giving to you my top 5 basic revision tips!
revision: where we are learning about the topics that we are studying, or it can be something your learning yourself- revision can be anything!
So whatever it is you are revising i know there can be many set backs, positives and stress. It is very important that you revise, especially, for things such as exams. So i wan't to help you!

Tip Number One: STOP PROCRASTINATION!!

My first tip here is certainly for me my number one evil in revision is my bad habits of procrastination.. it takes over me.

So sometimes what i like to do when i am about to study is:
  • Put my phone away- social media is a huge distraction.
  • Clear my desk- Having a clear desk also creates no distractions for your mind.
  • Only keep essentials on your desk- Books, pens and other equipment.
  • Do it in a environment where your also not going to get distracted- so not on your bed!

Tip Number Two: HAVE THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT!!

Having the right equipment to do your revision with is important. With myself, i find that if i don't have the things or i tend to feel less motivated to do my work because for me it won't look right.

What things do i use?

Tip Number Three: FINDING YOUR REVISION TECHNIQUE!!

It is key when revising that you find the technique that actually works for your revision.
So for example, i create flashcards.

How to create flash cards?
  • Write definition or question on one side.
  • Write the answer on the other side.
You may not like this technique or it may not work for you. So try other things like revision posters, mind maps, bullet points etc. The quicker you find what works for you the more effective and time used your revision will be.

So for flashcard users- you do not have to have written flash cards! Grab your tablet, computer or phone and Download quizlet! It is an amazing app that allows you to create flash cards and other revision sources digitally for free. Check it out!

It is also important to figure out if you revise better in silence or with music or other background noise.
I know when i was revising today i had a high school musical playlist on repeat lol!

Tip Number Four: TIME!!

Being time efficient is key when it comes to planning your revision for exams.
Leaving it till the night before is not a good idea!

I suggest that you:
  • Create a revision timetable- This will help you to keep track of what you need to do and how long for.
  • Revise important topics first that you don't know as much about.
  • Begin revision a good few months before your exams begin. ( This is better for GCSEs).

  • Begin revision for A-levels in the first few months- There is so much work to do.
Tip Number Five: KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!

So a good idea is to create checklists for each subject.
This will especially help in knowing what your strong areas are and what your weak ones are.
Creating checklists will also help you to see all the topics you need to revise and whether you have got the correct revision to go with each of the topics.

So i hope these tips were of any help! If you would like me to go into any detail about the tips I have said just leave me a comment below and I will do so for you.
Have a lovely day and let me know if any of these worked for you as i would love to hear.

Bye lovelies xo
